If you know your subject's profession, you may
also wish to use the appropriate subject page. For example, if
your subject is a politician, you may also wish to check the
Political Science page.
The following databases/indexes are designed to provide links to
online resources. To find books, you will need to consult the
Hiram College Library
Catalog and, perhaps, the
OhioLINK catalog.
Search your subject using the subject search option and entering the
name last name first; e.g., cash johnny. You may
also wish to search for books that include a number of biographical
sketches by searching for the group with a subdivision of biography;
e.g., musicians biography or musicians united
states biography. You may need to actually look at the
book to determine if your subject is included.
1. Databases/indexes to find
periodical articles - These databases are designed to
help you identify relevant periodical articles through keyword or
subject searches. In most cases there will be links to either
the online version of the article or a listing of the library's
holdings. If you are not sure, you may check the library's
periodical
holdings list and/or its
list of
online journals. These databases are listed in the order
in which the library recommends them.
