ACM Digital Library - Provides the
full-text of 10 journals and 13 transactions published by the
Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), plus two journals
co-sponsored by ACM. Most of the journals are covered from the
first issue to the present. You can search the entire database
(not all full-text is available to Hiram users) or browse by a
specific journal.
ACS Publications - Also known as the ACS
Legacy Archives, this database provides the full-text of journals
published by the American Chemical Society (ACS). Most
coverage is from volume 1, issue 1 to the present. Newer

America: History and Life - Indexes
more than 2,000 journals covering American and Canadian history from
prehistory to the present. Also includes citations to relevant
book reviews and dissertations.
America's Newspapers - Complete
full-text of the Cleveland Plain Dealer (from 1991) and the Akron
Beacon Journal (from 1985), plus the full-text of 15 other
Ohio newspapers and 13 newspapers from across the Untied States.
Now includes 26 news magazines, too.
American City Business Journals - This
free to all database contains the searchable full-text from 39
metropolitan business newspapers, all published by American City
Business Journals, Inc. covering 1996 to the present, the
database includes publications from Cincinnati, Columbus, Dayton,
Pittsburgh, and Buffalo, among others.
American Drama - Provides the
full-text of some 700 plays from more than 300 playwrights.

Bible in English - Contains the full-text
of 13 complete editions, five New Testaments, two Gospel works, and

JSTOR - Fully searchable full-text of
nearly 500 scholarly journals. JSTOR provides back files to
the first issue of a journal, but stops 3 to 5 years before the
current publication year. Covers all disciplines.
Kent State Shootings Oral Histories - Oral
histories (both sound and transcripts are available for most of the
histories) from eyewitnesses to the May 4, 1970 Kent State shootings
and its aftermath. The QuickTime player is needed to listen to
the audio files.
Kids Search (grades K-5) - A colorful,
graphical interface to search magazine articles, photographs,
pictures, encyclopedias, and a dictionary. The content is
similar to Primary Search, which uses the
standard EBSCO interface. Most entries include a Lexile score
to indicate reading level.
Lake Erie's Yesterdays - Historic photos
of northwestern Ohio focusing on the Lake Erie islands and its
western basin. The photos, all in black and white, were
produced by Ernst Niebergall (a commercial photographer in Sandusky)
between 1909 and 1915. From the Charles E. Frohman Collection
in the Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Center.
Landsat 7 Satellite Images - Digital
snapshots of Ohio from the Landsat 7 satellite. New snapshots
are taken every 16 days, weather permitting. Each snapshot
covers an area approximately 155 miles wide by 106 miles long.
Older images are archived and available. Ohio is covered by 9
different snapshots.
Learning Express Library - Provides
interactive practice tests, including GRE, GMAT, LSAT, and Praxis 1.
Users must set up an individual account from an on-campus computer

Legal Collection - Provides

Lexi-PALS - Patient Advisory Leaflets
(PALS) that provide patients with information on medications,

the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. Contains leaflets for some 1,450
medications with nearly half also available in Spanish.
LexisNexis Academic Universe - More
than 5,000 sources provide full-text coverage of business, law,
medicine and health, news, and general reference sources.

educational technology. Coverage as far back as the mid-1960s.
Literary Reference Center - A

Searchataurus (elementary and
