Archives Use Policies
Historical materials do not circulate and must be used with care, under the supervision of the Archivist, in the Archival/Special Collections Reading Room (2nd level of the pavilion of the Hiram College Library). No book bags, briefcases or duffle bags are allowed in the reading room. Pencils will be provided for note taking.
Photocopying, scanning and photo reproduction are available for a reasonable fee, but the department reserves the right to refuse reproduction if circumstances warrant.
Prior permission must be obtained to publish archival materials, and proper credit must be given to the Hiram College Archives. Patrons are responsible for observing all United States copyright regulations.
Finding aids exist for most archival collections, and reference assistance is provided for help in determining appropriate research materials.
Due to staffing constraints, all patrons are encouraged to make appointments to use the archival and special collections to insure that they receive maximum assistance with their research with each visit.
