Introduction
Welcome to the Western Reserve of Ohio.  Encompassing roughly 3.3 million acres in northeast Ohio, this area was claimed by the State of Connecticut after the Revolution as a "reserve" to compensate those who had suffered during the war.  While the sites below focus on the Hiram area, they include sites related to Portage County (and Ravenna, the county seat), but also Cleveland, Akron, and the Warren-Youngstown area.
