Ohio Bicentennial

Happy 200th Birthday, Ohio!  On March 1, 1883 Ohio was admitted to the Union as the 17th state.  Following are some sites to help you celebrate Ohio's Bicentennial and its history.  You may also want to check our Local Interest page to find web sites for local historical societies.  Enjoy.

Ohio Bicentennial Home Page - the official page of the Ohio Bicentennial.  Don't miss pictures of all the Ohio Bicentennial Barns, including the one from Portage County.

OPLIN Ohio Bicentennial Page - great list of links to other Ohio Bicentennial sites, as well as Ohio historical sites.  OPLIN is the Ohio Public Library Information Network.

Ohio Memory Project - an online page devoted to images from the history of Ohio.  Look for the Hiram contributed materials.

Cleveland Memory Project - based on the Ohio Memory Project, but limited to Cleveland.

Ohio Historical Society - don't miss the online encyclopedia of Ohio history.

Cleveland Digital Library - text, maps, and images about Cleveland and the Western Reserve.

Encyclopedia of Cleveland History - all the articles from the print version.
