Indexes and abstracts the scientific and technical literature in physics, computer science, information technology, and electrical engineering.  INSPEC covers more than 4,000 journals, more than 2,000 conference proceedings, books, reports and dissertations.    Coverage is international and goes back to 1969 with more than 6.7 million records.

This online version of Science Abstracts Journals covers scientific and technical literature in physics, electrical engineering, and computing and control engineering.

This online version of Mathematical Reviews and Current Mathematical Publications indexes articles and books in mathematics from 1940 to the present. Links to the full-text are not available to Hiram users.

Multi-disciplinary database that indexes and abstracts some 4,300 periodicals.  Provides full-text to more than 3,300 with 2,500 being peer-reviewed journals.

Searchable, full-text issues of nearly 4,000 journals from major publishers. 
Columbia Earthscape 
Earthscape attempts to provide a wide audience with access to key information on earth sciences and public policy.  Provides access to full-text books, full-text journal articles, videos, datasets, daily news, sample course syllabi, and links to other internet resources.  Updated daily.
GeoRef (off-campus Hiram users, click here
Indexes more than 2,000 journals, plus books and other materials, related to geology, geography, ecology and related disciplines.

Locating Periodicals
Once you have identified relevant articles for your topic, you will need to find the actual article.  Depending on the database(s) you searched, you may have already found the text of the article online.  If not, to see which articles are owned by the Hiram College Library, check the
Hiram College Library Periodicals Holdings List, as well as the OhioLINK Electronic Journal Finder to see which periodicals are available online in full-text.

Other Databases
Annual Reviews 
Searchable full-text of all 29 Annual Review publications.  Full-text is provided for 1996 to the present with bibliographic citations for the years 1984 through 1995.

The web version of McGraw-Hill's Encyclopedia of Science & Technology, the database also includes news from the world of science, biographies of famous scientists, and links to related articles.
