Even though we are already halfway through Black History month, it is never too late to pick up a book about Black History or by a Black author. It is important to diversify not only the types of stories you read but who is writing those stories as well. Different backgrounds can offer new perspectives on topics we are familiar with. From History to Sci-Fi to Poetry, Black authors have been creating and innovating new works that challenge and surpass expectations of what a book or story can be. Below is a selection of 28 books to add to your reading list for Black History Month, and the rest of the year too. There are a variety of topics and authors so we are sure you will find something up your alley, and even if it is not your usual taste in literature it can be fun to try something different for a change.
