Biomedical Humanities Subject Guide

The National Library of Medicine’s database of more than 11 million bibliographic citations in the fields of medicine, nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine, health care, and related areas. This EBSCO version adds full-text for a number of journals, as well as a Find It link for other citations so you can determine if the Hiram College Library provides access to that article.

The National Library of Medicine’s own site (technically, PubMed) provides free access to Medline, its database of some 11 million bibliographic citations in the fields of medicine, nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine, health care, and related areas. PubMed adds an addition 3 million references not in Medline.

Indexes articles, books, and dissertations on modern literature, languages, folklore, and linguistics. Coverage goes back to 1926.

Indexes and abstracts some 1,900 periodical titles with some coverage as far back as 1925. Also indexes books, essays, reviews, and original creative work including fiction and poems.

Indexes nearly 700 periodicals in the humanities (art, classical studies, dance, film, philosophy, religious studies, and more) with some coverage back to 1910. Full-text is available for more than 330 journals.
