New Student Orientation: Class Support

Academic Support

Subject Guides are pages created by librarians which can point you in the direction of relevant materials for your research and papers. These can be found for most majors and disciplines in our Guide List

Course Guides are similar to the subject guides but instead of being limited to a particular discipline it is for a particular class that you are in. These guides are very useful if you are stuck in trying to find where to look for class related materials as they are created with guidance from your professors. An ever growing list of Course Guides are available in the Guide List. If you find that you have no Course Guide please contact Chris Schmidt the Electronic Resource Librarian and we will try to get one created for it.

Course Reserves

Professors often put required textbooks as well as other course materials on course reserve. To see what materials a professor has placed on reserve, ask at the Circulation Desk or search the library catalog.

Course reserve items may be checked out for two hours. A valid Hiram ID is all that is needed to check out course reserves.
