  • What types of materials can I borrow through SearchOhio and OhioLINK? You can request print materials, audiobooks, music, movies and other formats. 
  • How long before I receive my requested material? Most arrive within a week, but it depends on their availability. You’ll be notified by email when they arrive.
  • How do I return items? Drop them off at Hiram Library!
  • Are there different rules for borrowing? Yes. Items have different loan periods, renewal limits, daily fine rates and replacement costs than the items you borrow from Hiram College Library.

The Hiram College Library has acquired nearly every book by bestselling fantasy author Brandon Sanderson.  These books are currently available on the New Book Shelf on the first floor of the library.  Come check them out!

Join the Friends of the Hiram College Library as they celebrate 40 years with author, Amanda Flower!

Amanda Flower, a USA Today bestselling and Agatha Award-winning author, has written over fifty mystery novels. A former librarian, she now writes for and lives on a farm in Northeast Ohio with her husband and their cats.

If you are experiencing issues with access to JSTOR, please try clearing your cache or using a different browser (Chrome, Firefox, etc.). If that doesn't do the trick, please email David Roberts, and he'll locate articles for you while we work to find a fix.

Academic Search Complete

Multidisciplinary database that indexes and abstracts some 9,300 periodicals, both popular and scholarly. Provides full-text to more than 5,300 journals.

JSTOR

Fully searchable full-text of nearly 1,000 scholarly journals. JSTOR provides back files to the first issue of a journal, but stops 3 to 5 years before the current publication year. Covers all disciplines.

Electronic Journal Center (EJC)

Searchable, full-text issues of journals from a number of major publishers. More than 7,000 journals are available.

Opposing Viewpoints in Context

Covers current and controversial social issues from immigration to gun control to fracking. Viewpoint essays present different sides to an issue and the database adds periodical articles, statistics, video/audio, news articles, and primary sources.

Access World News Research Collection

Find global information on topics related to business and economics, careers, criminal justice, education, environmental studies, health, international studies, performing and fine arts, political science, social issues and more from a variety of news media featuring newspapers, image editions, videos and web-only content including the Akron Beacon Journal, Plain Dealer, Record-Courier Collection, USA Today and international sources.
