We’re excited to announce that Hiram College and the OhioLINK consortium are upgrading to a new Library Services Platform (LSP) in Summer 2025. This transition will bring a more modern and robust library catalog, offering new features to improve how you search and find resources.
Course Reserves:
If you’re planning to place materials on course reserve for the 3-Week or Summer 2025 terms, please contact David Roberts before March 1, 2025, with your requests. Requests made after March 1st cannot be fulfilled because our library system will be down!
Requesting New Library Materials:
You are welcome to request new materials for the library collection. However, please note that new materials cannot be borrowed or added until sometime after the system goes live in June 2025.
OhioLINK Print Lending Freeze:
Starting May 23, 2025, the OhioLINK request button will be unavailable for 4–6 weeks as print book lending between Ohio’s academic libraries is paused. Plan ahead by requesting books for Summer and Fall terms early this Spring semester!
SearchOhio Pause:
Sharing between public libraries via SearchOhio will also pause on May 23 and is expected to resume between September and December.
Local borrowing from your public library will continue as usual.
Enhanced Features Coming Soon:
Once live, the new library catalog will provide exciting improvements, including:
Hiram librarians and OhioLINK staff are working hard to ensure a smooth transition. We’ll share updates as more information becomes available.
